How it works
Cadence guidance
Running Cadence gives you a steady rhythmic cue on your wrist to help you match a cadence you choose. It is a pacing aid, not a running tracker or medical device.
Choose a target
Select your target steps per minute and session duration on iPhone or the paired watch. Changes made during an active session apply to the next session.
Start on your wrist
Open Running Cadence on the watch and tap Start. After a short countdown, rhythmic vibrations begin. Keep interaction minimal and let the cue act as a reference for your steps.
Preview first
Use Preview to feel the rhythm before a run. Preview does not consume a trial session. A trial session is consumed only after 60 seconds of active guidance.
Haptic options
You can choose Standard or Strong haptic strength. The cadence pattern remains provisional until physical-device validation is complete. Perceptibility varies with watch fit, movement and environment.
Safety
Stay aware of traffic, terrain and your surroundings. Stop if the cue is distracting or uncomfortable. Running Cadence does not measure pace, distance, heart rate or whether your steps match the cue.
